Karma is still very busy with her studies, as I have returned from the c-novel community I realised from omegaharem have picked up the translation from chapter 20 onwards, any readers who are unaware of this, can read the lastest updates there. I have also updated the index with the links to make it easier for everyone.
I want to first give thanks to everyone for your support, it’s definitely made me decide to continue translating and also given me motivation. I’ve been on hiatus for a really long time, and I honestly didn’t think it would be that long, but I’ve unfortunately been stressing out over school, and I can only blame myself for deciding to major in three different fields on top of familial duties. That obviously doesn’t completely excuse me for not translating for so many months, as I do sometimes have time to squeeze in for translating a part of a chapter or a whole chapter now and then, but I always end up using that time to either sleep or read for relaxation and de-stressing. Hi everyone! I’m adding a poll for everyone to vote in what they want to see next. I have a two day Fall break, so I’m excited to release something for you guys. I’ve basically come down to these three options. First option is summaries of DFPD chapters instead of translations, which will naturally not be as detailed, nor will it be as engaging in terms of character interaction, but there will be more chapters. The second option is translations of DFPD which is what I’ve been doing, which will be more detailed and closer to the original, but less chapters will be released in the same span of time. Or if people are more interested in seeing something new, I could start translating a new novel, or summarize the chapters. If there is a book you’ve been dying to read, comment below (or leave the ssb or online novel link), and I will take a look at it, and if it’s within my interest and ability, I’ll translate/summarize it! Of course, I will continue translating DFPD even if I start a new novel, but I will be switching b/w the two instead of just translating one in that case.

Since some readers have asked regarding Eastern Palace I have thought about this for 2 weeks and finally made the decision to drop this project.
The reason? I have simply lost my passion to continue translating this novel. It quite time-consuming for both karma and I to go the research on certain things that’s mention in the novel such as idioms and etc.
I would like to say a very big thank you to my partner in crime in this translation project. You have been an amazing partner to work with and I can’t thank you enough for agreeing to pick up this project when I asked for your help even though I knew you didn’t love any of the male characters in the novel (haha our discussion through email). I hope in the future we can collaborate on something else.

So I’m not sure if I translated the title of the chapter correctly because it would make sense a little later, but not in this particular chapter.
Anyway, I just wanted to let all the readers know that I will be going on a hiatus for a bit to focus on school and work, Evida will continue to translate the next chapters. I will continue from where I left off (Chapter 18) on my own blog, but it won’t be updated on a regular basis as I will only be translating when I have time. I’m sorry for the short notice because I forgot to mention it in the last chapter. I just wanted to thank all of you guys for all the support as that was my greatest motivation! Sorry guys, I’ve been so tired and unmotivated recently, this chapter isn’t boring, but the latter half of the chapter kind of annoys me a tiny bit haha, so unfortunately it will only be the first part of the chapter today. The next chapter is super cute though, so wait for it!
Also, I don’t know if it was ever clarified, but Long Da, Long Er, and Long San are called as such because in Chinese family hierarchy the oldest child would be called 老大 Lao Da – ‘Eldest child’, then 老二 Lao Er ‘second eldest child’ and 老三 Lao San for ‘third eldest child’, and so on down the line; therefore, Long Fei (which is Long San’s name in case you forgot) is often called many different ways e.g. Long San, Lao San, San Ye, etc. All containing the number 三San (three). So, I don’t know how many people have watched the reality talent show ‘The Voice of China’, but there was one singer that I fell in love with because of his voice, and he was able to grab a spot as a finalist in season one. 金志文 Jin Zhi Wen has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. He and 胡彦斌 Anson Hu are my two favorite Chinese singers, because their voices always melt my heart into a little puddle of goo every time I hear them sing.
Anyway, I heard this song on my sister’s CD while I was driving, and the few lyrics that caught my attention nearly made me cry. So I tried to look it up online but to no avail. So I just wrote the Chinese lyrics down directly from the MV, and then translated them for anyone who may be interested. Unfortunately this man with a heavenly voice isn’t all that popular, seeing as some of his songs are ridiculously hard to find. Anyway, as I’ve had little to no motivation to translate novels, this was definitely a breath of fresh air!
